Project Description
Any part of the Earth can suffer from drought. The Drought Analyzer is an interactive software toolkit for exploring recent and historical drought events. It helps to find answers to questions:
  • How severe is the current drought?
  • Have there been similar droughts in the past?
  • How much rain is needed to end this drought?

Drought analyzer works as an extension of HydroDesktop. With HydroDesktop you can get up-to date meteorological data for your area of interest, create custom drought maps and do advanced geospatial analysis of your prediction results.

New methods for drought quantifications can be added by simply writing a script in the R statistical scripting language.
